Today, I learned that a morning jog is such a beautiful thing! The rhythm of your feet hitting the pavement unlocks a primal connection with nature that’s unparalleled in anything else I’ve ever experienced. Nature reveals itself to you, and you feel so privileged and grateful! You feel as though you’re navigating the veins of the living world, feeling it breathe around you. It’s exhilarating in the most relaxing way. What a simple joy! (Plus, you get an excuse to eat great healthy treats afterwards.) Love your body and appreciate the world you live in!

Chai Mask
In honor of this homecoming-eve, I’ve decided to share one of my favorite indulgences. This chai mask is incredibly easy to make and works like a charm! To start, you’ll need:
-1 tablespoon of honey
-1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
-1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
Mix these ingredients together in a bowl. You’ll feel tempted to eat it (it really smells wonderful), but it’s in your best interest to refrain. (For extra relaxation and deliciousness, mix your leftovers in a cup of chai tea when you’re done!)
To apply, rub the mask all over your face and let it sit for around 20 minutes. I like to wash my face before I put on the mask, but it depends on what skin type you have! This mask is intended for oily or normal skin. Remove the mask with a washcloth and warm water!
Aftercare: The aftercare shows your skin that you care and locks in all the wonderful effects of the mask. Use 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar diluted in 1 cup of cool water!
Take the time to love your skin! It will thank you later, I promise. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Enjoy! Happy Homecoming!
A First Chapter…
In my experience, the first chapter is always where we find our heroine sitting quietly in her plebeian clothing in her plain home doing something that is considerably unremarkable. The buildup is gradual and time consuming as we get to know this seemingly dull and boring person that we expect to be saving the entire world. We read on, anticipation growing with the turn of each page, waiting for just an ounce of action to suddenly snag our focus and draw us in. It can be exhausting for some, but I’ve always liked first chapters. In the first chapters, we have the privilege of learning about these characters on a beautiful personal level. We can form their faces. Hear their voices for the first time. I read these first chapters and compare them to my life. I see that they aren’t so different. So here’s to all of the first chapters. Here’s to finding out more about the characters you meet, and appreciating the small details that will eventually help them become our heroes. Or loving the details within ourselves and knowing that one day we will save the day.
